Program Delivery

Location
The Full Steam Ahead program takes place on the campus of The Colorado Springs School in partnership with Peak Education.

Hands-on Learning
Students discover learning in whole new ways through immersion in topics and studies not typically afforded to them during the regular school year. From dissecting sheep's brains and programming robots to practicing the design thinking process while inventing their own products, students fully engage in learning through exciting experiences that carry with them on future educational journeys.

Teachers & Mentors
Master teachers and high school mentors deliver the program while also coordinating thematic and relevant field trips locally.

Beyond the Classroom
Students gain exposure to outdoor adventures, museums, and college resources throughout the Pikes Peak Region via a series of integrated field trips and speakers.

Electives
Students also choose electives to explore new interests and hobbies, like photography, flying machines, cooking, crafts, painting, games and sports.

Brain Matters
Through both anatomical and psychological investigations, students gain knowledge about keeping the brain healthy and improving their cognitive skills.

Innovation & Discovery
This course moves beyond self-discovery and exploration, allowing students to see how individuals fit into the world around them through technology, creative writing, research and programming.

Design & Deliver
Students focus on creative problem-solving, teamwork, and thinking outside of the box through exercises in design thinking, public speaking and entrepreneurship.
