Recent wedding:
officiated by Michael Walker '82, William Steinberg '82 and Shelley Sheppeck '82 were married May 1, 2010 at CSS . Their children and extended family were in attendance including Doug Sheppeck '86, his wife, and son. Candy Pierce-Covnot '82 created the buttoniers and Shelley's bouquet of orchids and calla lilies.

Once Upon a Mattress
: Sean Campbell '02 returned from Illinois to create a spectacular set for this spring's musical. His set and tech design enhanced delightful performances.

In Memoriam

One of the core parents in the development and growth of CSS, Janet Lecompte, mother of Ellen Lecompte '67, the late Louisa Lecompte '70,  Charles Lecompte, Jane Lecompte Anderson, Tom Lecompte, and Peter Lecompte '79, died February 28, 2010 after a prolonged illness.

It is with regret that I report the passing of Adell Moore Shafiee '66 on November 20, 2009 in Denver, CO.

Rhoda Ingraham Bedford '69 died August 2009. She had been a medical assistant and was known for her beautiful voice.

Former Trustee, Bob Donner, husband of Joan Donner, father of Debbie Donner '79, David Donner '83, and the late Bobby Donner died January 13, 2010.

For those actresses from CSSG, I report the passing on December 16, 2009 of Hunter Frost, longtime theater director at Fountain Valley School and father of former CSS faculty member, Julie Frost.

Rex Robinson '08 and now a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point was recently in Colorado Springs to do informational sessions for West Point. Rex spoke to CSS students as well as students at other local schools. While sharing his experiences at the academy, Rex made it clear that his CSS education prepared him for the rigors of West Point. Now in his second year at West Point, Rex has maintained Dean's List standing, is on the fencing team, and has earned his Airborne wings. His daily schedule this semester includes classes in physics, calculus, economics, philosophy, Chinese, and military science; in addition there are required athletics and military duties every day. Rex credits CSS with excellent academic preparation, teaching him time management, and encouraging the ideals of excellence and service to others.

Christina McGrath '03 organized this year's first alumni happy hour held at Jose Muldoon's in Colorado Springs for all front range alumni 1965-2005 and their former (and present) faculty. Alumni included Kate Deeny '05, Chris Cadigan '01, Kevan Pimentel '04, Corey Cross '05, Ben Smith '01, Vince (Mustafa) Motley '00, and Nikki Warner '05. Colorado Springs and Denver will alternate months for happy hours: Denver in December.

Tiffany Williamson '98 is CSS's Director of Admissions and Financial Assistance, the first alum to hold a position on the administrative team. She has been developing relationships with area preschools, elementary schools and organizations that can refer students to us. Recently, her and Susan Kosar, Assistant Director of Admissions, returned from an international recruitment visit in Hong Kong and Seoul. CSS participated in the Institute for International Education Fair in Hong Kong, and visited alumni, Lily Man '02. While in Seoul, Tiffany and Susan attended a dinner with 9 families (parents and siblings) of existing international students at CSS.

Ted Brassfield '98 is fresh from law school after having consulted previously in the field of human resources for some years. Currently he is living in DC and attended the DC gathering.

Anthony Dortch '96 coordinated the alumni gathering this fall at Eatonville in Washington, DC. Anthony now is supporting himself by his many artistic talents.

Linus Rollman '91 was married to Elizabeth Henderson in mid-September and is living in Oregon.

Kira Lee Wright '91 and Peter Wright '91 attended the Portland, OR gathering.

Ginger Kyle Arwadi '89 hosted a Houston gathering this fall. In between their busy schedules, she has vacationed in Belize and visited family in NM, Paris, and Lebanon. She and her husband, Nabil, hope to attend REUNION June 4th-6th.

Bryan Hays
'89 wrote that he was back in the US in Houston, Texas, newly engaged, and is a municipal bond wholesaler. After living many years in Japan, a place he loves, he is finding that starting over back in the states and getting new clients is a slow and grueling process. He asked if anyone needs tax-free conservative investments, let him know .(They pay better than CDs, he says). 

Courtney Chamberlain Pell '89 is living in Houston and handling three successful businesses. REUNION 2010 is on her calendar!

Hillary Wilson '88, her daughter, Paige, 5, and son, Tate, 2, hosted a San Diego gathering October 17th at their home.

Satish Ayer '88 and his wife Dalinda live outside of Phoenix, AZ where he is a sales account manager in a microelectronics firm.

Glen Jaffe '88 attended Hillary's gathering in San Diego. He is head of a computer consulting company, is married, and has a four year old daughter, Sydney.

Stephanie Roth '87 took a break and came on her own to the Portland alumni gathering. She is married with two children and in the past has attended both CSS Seattle get-togethers as well.

Tony Serebriany (formerly, Sterling) '86, attended Hillary's gathering in San Diego with his two daughters, Zoey and Fiona. He is creative director for USAopoly.

Jen Fuller James '86 came down by train from New Jersey for the DC alumni event. She is working with a challenging population of autistic children.

Lewis Dabney '86 and his wife, Chiara, whom he had met in Napoli, came to the DC gathering this fall. He is working as a mediator for Key Bridge Foundation.

Carolyn Trupp Gil '86 works in government affairs for the American Chemical Society. She is married to Javier Gil, and they have a daughter, Pili.

Justine Moore and her husband, Thomas Lupanello, came to Eatonville for the DC gathering. She is writing and is a personal trainer now, and they are living in DC.

Michele Cathey Hamley '85
is married with two children in OR and is an emergency room nurse practitioner. This November she was on a mercy mission in Sudan.

John Ryan '83 is living in the Portland area and attended the CSS gathering there.

Lora Looney '83 is chair of the Spanish Department at the University of Portland. She both attended the CSS Portland, OR gathering and visited with Susan Robbins, CSS Director of Alumni Relations, when she was back in Colorado Springs visiting family.

Jim Abeles '83 and his wife, Kat Topaz, joined the CSS Portland, OR get-together. They and their children are living right in town.

Fernando Nunez '82, his wife, Lourdes, and their three sons, Fernando Jr., a senior, Bernardo, a sophomore, and Eduardo, in the third grade, are living in the San Diego area. His children are attending school in the US, and they all attended the gathering hosted by Hillary Wilson '88.

Gillian Freney '82 came to the Portland CSS gathering. She is the mother of a young daughter who had been in the same school as Stephanie Roth '87's child.

Kate Moench Lawrence '80 came from out of town to the Portland, OR reception. She stayed out there after college, married, and is raising her family.

Amy Youngflesh '79, her husband and two school-age children took off six months for explorations in India and Southeast Asia. Recently back, she attended the Portland, OR CSS gathering.

Cate Safranek Dapron '78 came to Hillary Wilson's San Diego gathering. She continues as a technical editor, is married, and is living near San Diego.

Molly Anker Hunsaker '78 and her son, Nick, have been coming from Carbondale, CO to Colorado Springs where Nick is experientially studying falconry with CSS MIddle School teacher, Roger Tucker. On weekends Roger imparts his knowledge, and he and Nick hunt with Roger's own raptors.

Catherine Calder Fettig '77
is married with children in OR where she is a therapist in a facility out there.

Sara Zwinger Roberts '74 and Jane Zwinger '72 cooked for and hosted the busy Portland, OR CSS gathering. Both love the area and return regularly to see family in Colorado. Sara and her husband are now empty-nesters with their daughter off at college.
