Private independent schools like CSS do not, nor have they ever, relied on tuition alone to fully fund their programs. We count on the generous support of alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, frineds, neighbors, foundations and businesses to give our teachers and students the added resources which make the CSS educational experience so unforgettable.
Tuition is set each year at about 80-85% of the total cost to attend CSS. Every student has an automatic 15%-20% scholarship. We NEVER set tuition at 100%; we depend on donations to close the gap and fully fund the CSS experience.
During the 2008-2009 school year, we received over $565,000 for the Annual Fund. Our goal for the 2009-2010 school year is $625,000.
The IRS recognizes CSS as a 501c3 Charitable Organization. As such, your gifts to the school are tax deductable. We issue receipts for all gifts we receive. And, until December 31, 2009, donations designated to support our early childhood education and childcare programs are eligible for a Colorado 50% tax credit as well.
We strive for full participation in our Annual Fund from our Board of Trustees, Faculty and Staff, and parents. For the 2009-2010 school year, as of December 1, 2009 participation numbers are as follows:
