Letter from the Head of School

Welcome to The Colorado Springs School, a Pre-Kindergarten – 12th grade college preparatory day school that serves the greater Colorado Springs region.

For nearly 50 years, it has been the mission of The Colorado Springs School to deliver a superior academic program in the context of uncommonly rich experiences and healthy relationships with peers and adults. Our goal is to coach young people with diverse backgrounds to become the kind of people who can provide leadership of integrity long into the future.

We accomplish that mission with small classes through all of the pre-college grades, deeply committed educators who are accomplished mentors to our students, and a sequence of age-appropriate out-of-classroom programs that draw forth from each person his or her unique attributes. We believe in a close working relationship with our families and active involvement in the Colorado Springs community, and the world beyond. Our students graduate with a deep sense of their potential and a broad, global perspective.

While we have a strong college admission record, we endeavor to see beyond the short-term goal of college admission, to the larger objective of developing individuals of character and ability who succeed in college and throughout life.

While you think about the kind of school you may seek, think about the kind of person—in yourself or your child—that you would like to see graduate from high school. Then come talk to us about your hopes and meet some of our students and faculty.
