Founded in 1962, The Colorado Springs School (CSS) is an independent day school serving students from PreKindergarten through grade 12. Recognized as the leading independent school in the Pikes Peak region and nestled at the base of the Rockies. The Colorado Springs School’s Signature Programs are distinctive experiential education philosophy strikes a balance between innovation and tradition for all grade levels.

CSS – home to more than 300 students – offers a hands-on education with balanced concern for academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. Through superior academics and mentoring, The Colorado Springs School prepares students to think independently and to meet the challenges of a dynamic world with leadership, ingenuity, problem-solving skills, and personal integrity.

The Colorado Springs School prides itself on student engagement. Faculty and staff bring learning to life with project-based units, real-world connections, and student-centered classroom experiences. In addition to teaching, faculty members serve as class and club sponsors, student advisors, and Seminar leaders in our fast-paced, active, school community.

The school is situated on a 28 acre-campus with eight buildings, including several on the National Historic Register.
