How to Apply

We are excited to receive your application for CSS! Our School seeks students and families with diverse backgrounds, talents and interests. Criterion for admission includes:

• Student interest and character
• Academic aptitude and achievement
• Recommendations
• Interview & Assessment

The School-family-student match is an essential part of the decision-making process. In addition to evaluating individual merit and the appropriateness of a CSS education for each student, the composition of each class and what a student will bring to that dynamic is also considered. During your application process we encourage families to attend our Admission events to get to our CSS mission and community.

Please follow these application steps:

Step 1

Submit an official inquiry form to The Colorado Springs School.

Step 2

Attend an upcoming Admissions event, Personal Campus Tour, or Virtual Information Session.

Step 3

Apply Online for The Colorado Springs School by submitting the application and $125 non-refundable fee (current families exempt).

PreKindergarten applicants must be 3 years old as of the date they start school in order to be considered for enrollment. In addition, all PreKindergarten applicants must be toilet-independent prior to beginning at CSS. For example, if your child turns 3 in December, your child may enroll beginning that month. International students, visit our International Student Homestay webpage for more information and to review the application process.

Note: Once you have submitted an application you will have access to the CSS SchoolAdmin Portal and provided a checklist that includes information on all of the steps and documentation necessary to complete your student’s application. You will receive an email upon application submission with access information.

*You must complete ALL required checklist items in order for your student’s application to be considered ready for an admissions decision.

Step 4

Financial Aid: If applicable apply here: Clarity for need-based Financial Aid.

In order to apply for need-based Financial Aid, an admission application must be fully completed. PreK families are now eligible for Need-based Financial Aid. Qualifying families can receive up to 25% coverage of tuition costs

Step 5

As part of the application process CSS conducts age-appropriate assessments.

Step 6

An admission decision is made! Applications and need-based Financial Aid will be sent to the portal.

Upon acceptance, completing the online enrollment contract and submitting your child's non-refundable tuition deposit will guarantee a place for your child in their respective grade level.
