The Colorado Springs School's 2nd Annual Experiential Education Expo on October 15 showcased its engaging approach to educating students in PreKindergarten through grade 12. Participants experienced some of the same hands-on learning and team-building activities that have had a transformational impact on CSS students for 60 years.
Activities included caving with CaveSim, relay races to understand composting, a meet-and-greet with birds of prey led by CSS’s retired science teacher and Master Falconer Roger Tucker, scaling a 24-foot climbing wall, learning about civilizations created by 8th graders, digging for dinosaurs, a lesson on nautical life while creating your own boat out of everyday household items, and building your own trail mix.
