We're thrilled to announce that CSS Alumna Kate Griffin '20 has been awarded Denison University's prestigious President's Medal! This honor is given to a senior who excels in athletics, academics, and service to the university.
Kate, who is majoring in Health, Exercise, and Sport Studies (HESS), truly embodies the the spirit of service through sport. As the founding board member and vice-chair of Crossover for Change, she has showcased the power of sports in fostering confidence, empowerment, and leadership for young women in Uganda.
On the golf course, Kate is a standout player. She is a two-time First-Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference player (2021-2022, 2022-2023) and earned a spot on the 2022-2023 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Region Team. She was the individual runner-up at the NCAC Tournament and placed 64th in the NCAA Division III Championship. Kate has been instrumental in helping Denison University's women's golf team secure the NCAC Championship twice and has been a WGCA All-American Scholar Team member both years.
Kate also contributes to Deniston's campus life as a member of Denison's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (DSAAC) and serves as a Docent in the Office of Admissions.
