Curious about The Colorado Springs School? We invite you to learn more during our Open House & All-School Showcase this Saturday, November 9, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event features robotics, science demonstrations, art, live music and dance, campus tours, global food, and more.
“We host this event in celebration of our school community and the entire Colorado Springs community,” said Joy Maguire-Parsons, Director of Admission. “We simply want to share our beautiful, historic campus, our signature programs, and our learning community in a fun and interactive nature that speaks to the CSS mission.”
Entertainment includes Pikes Peak Highlanders with bagpipe and drum performances, the CSS Pep Band, and student music. The Reminders, who play worldwide and recently released their third studio album, will perform for the second year in a row; the hip-hop duo is made up of husband-and-wife team Big Samir and Aja Black, whose three children attend CSS.
Our teachers will offer hands-on activities for all ages, including Big Blue Blocks, Physics of Sound, Adopt-a-Crop Planting, Science “Toys,” STEM Marshmallow and Tower Challenge, and the Written Word. Complete a bingo card by exploring a variety of stations throughout the day for a chance to win a mini sphero, a weighted blanket, The Kindness Diaries three-book set, and a 1,500-piece LEGO set.
The menu features foods from countries where our international students are from, including chicken egg rolls (China), samosas (India), pancit (Philippines), käsespätzle (Germany), tortilla Española (Spain), beef taquitos (Mexico), and mochi (Japan).
This family-friendly event is for you and your friends. Neighbors, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are invited too. Current families may check out what their child is doing in class, walk down memory lane by visiting a previous classroom, or pop in to meet future teachers. There is something for everyone!
The Colorado Springs School is a college-preparatory, day, and international school serving students from preschool through high school. Our students come from 35 zip codes across the Pikes Peak region. Our international student body currently hails from China, Japan, Spain, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Germany.
We invite the community to learn how we prepare students to think independently and meet the challenges of a dynamic world with leadership, ingenuity, problem-solving skills, and personal integrity. Come chat with our teachers and explore our programs and campus.
“We want to be a resource for the community and partner with you on your child’s educational journey,” said Jessica James, Director of Communications and Advancement. “We support a variety of learners to reach their fullest potential and prepare them for a dynamic world. Proudly, our graduates gain acceptance into top colleges and pursue purposeful lives.”
