Kodiak Classic Cross Country Race Draws Hundreds of Middle School Runners

Kudos to our Kodiak runners and 15 visiting Middle School teams for participating in the 13th annual CSS Kodiak Classic! Two hundred and thirty racers from across the Pikes Peak region competed at The Colorado Springs School on October 2, 2024.

The 1.5-mile course winds through our 28-acre campus, featuring sections of grass, loose gravel, and rough terrain, as well as a bridge crossing over a creek. A highlight for many runners is the hay bales placed as jumping barriers.

The top finishers in both races were from Monument Academy Middle School: Addison M. finished the girls' race in 8 minutes and 45 seconds out of 140 runners, while George P. completed the boys' race in 8 minutes and 18 seconds out of 90 runners.

We're proud of our female Kodiaks for their efforts: Cameron J. '30 (12:25), Vaishnavi E. '30 (13:09), Paige H. '31 (13:27), Emma M. '31 (13:32), Jennah M. '31 (13:36), Emma S. '31 (13:45), Ellie Z. '31 (14:43), and Anastasia S. '31 (16:53). We also commend our male Kodiaks: Isaiah O. '30 (11:33) and Ben G. '31 (14:32). Way to go, Kodiaks!
