Middle and Upper School students fanned across the Pikes Peak region on Friday, October 28, 2022, for a joint Service Day Learning. Service to others is a longstanding tradition at The Colorado Springs School.
Sixth and seventh graders teamed up with Rocky Mountain Field Institute for trail maintenance at Red Rock Canyon and a location near the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Eighth graders paired with Upper Schoolers to give back to CSS through on-campus activities such as setting up a music lab, sanding and sealing picnic tables, getting the CSS garden ready for winter, and organizing the Carriage House art studio.
Additional Upper School students helped at the below locations and with the following nonprofit organizations: Cresta Open Space Bike Pump Track with Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates; Garden of the Gods Park with Rocky Mountain Field Institute; a Head Start Program at a local elementary school; Concrete Couch; and New Roots Farm owned by CSS alumna Sarah Hamilton '11.
